What I’ve been doing: working, working, working. The good news is I feel like I have respect and responsibility that will keep me busy for a while. I still love my clients and while there’s always a fair share of drama around the agency, I am still fairly happy. I can’t believe I’m two months away from my first year anniversary! Lots of fun campaigns coming up, I’ll share as soon as they’re running.

I’ve also been busy keeping Sammy happy. He loves our neighborhood and is extremely lucky to have his dog walker, Tony take him on weekly hikes. They go out to the suburbs, beaches and generally anywhere to wear him out. You can see photos of their walks here: Lucy’s Tails. Sam has also become quite the runner, nearly every morning we run the lakefront and through the park to get him going. He loves his windows at our place, I’m convinced he could be an eye-witness to shady happenings behind our building. The Chicago PD could probably use the little man.

This summer and this weekend definitely have been full of firsts. I’ve been on architectural boat tours, to street festivals, laying out on my roof, Cubs & Sox games and out in boats on the lake. This weekend specifically, I went to Lollapalooza to see Lady Gaga, went to the Green City Market and North Ave. beach all for the first time! Amazingly enough, I’m still going. This city has so much to do all the time, it’s hard to say no. I’ve even found myself running in after-work 5k’s with a team from Ogilvy. I have pushed myself and am slowly improving though I doubt I’ll ever actually be a real runner!

I’ve been trying to meet as many people as possible, sometimes it’s hard to force myself to go out after working all week but I’ve made some pretty good friends. I miss all of my ladies in KC dearly, I need to plan a trip back in the fall for a KU game or perhaps the Plaza Art Fair?! I’m so excited for football season to begin and start frequenting the Kansas bars up here with the troops. It’ll be nice to have a regular Saturday schedule and familiar faces! As summer wraps up I still need to make it to Jazzin’ at the Shedd on a Wednesday night (fireworks included), movies on the Terrace at the Conrad on Sundays and I’d like to hit some golf balls at the Diversy driving range.

Lindsey & Sammy

So as Spring approaches, I’ve decided that I needed to suck it up and face the future. I’m so lucky to have a job in this amazing city and I love being here. I’ve also been extremely fortunate over the past couple of months to make some very good friends here, so there’s nothing but positive things happening. I’m excited about moving into my new place (three weeks and counting…), getting Sammy and I into a new EARLY routine and all of the events coming up; it’s time to start sharing updates again. So here’s a quick rundown of what’s going on:
~ April 2nd, Sam and I are moving just around the corner from where we are now, into a new building with a rooftop deck and pool, with great views of the city and Wrigley. Our tiny space is very nice, but he will have windows and I will have a brand new kitchen all to myself. I’m super excited about decorating and buying my first couch on my own!

~ Samson is doing well, as it gets nicer out he just wants to be outside so having windows in out new place will be wonderful. His dog walker started posting pics of his clients and there are some adorable ones of Sam: http://picasaweb.google.com/lucystrails

~Work has been very busy, the Cottonelle Roll Poll campaign was amazing to see come to life here in Chicago and in NY. You can see some pics here.. Next up is the launch of Kleenex hand towels, then we move into Kleenex Back-to-School and Cold ‘n Flu seasons… yes, all we talk about at work is going to the bathroom and germs!

~As you know, we’re in the middle of March Madness, so most of my spare time is spent watching my Jayhawks. There are two great KU bars up here, it feels like Lawrence all over again sometimes. Fingers crossed they get a good regional division and will be dancing in Indy soon! Rock Chalk Jayhawk!

While I don’t have any upcoming trips planned, I am looking forward to joining my girlfriends at the Kentucky Derby in May and heading to K.C. for my dear friend Erin’s wedding! There are lots of exciting things coming up here as well: Cubs games- I mean, Cardinals games at Wrigley, outdoor concerts at Ravinia, street festivals and more! I’m eager to share my new city with friends and family, so start planning your trips soon!
